Chapter 12
The royal cloud bus reaches the Nimbus Land bus area. It seems to be the only area that is not destroyed. Mario and the gang get off the bus.
Mallow: Thanks for the ride.
Cloud Bus Driver: You're welcome. Now I must pick up those turtle guys. Goodbye to you all.
The bus begins to move again. This time it is descending. The bus moves down and is soon out of sight.
Mario: Let's-a go.
Mario and the gang walk out of the bus area and look at the remains of Nimbus Land. The houses are burned to crisps. The cloudy ground looks yellow and has lots of holes. The castle seems to be destroyed, too, but not as damaged as the rest of Nimbus Land. Even so, the castle looks as if it's about to collapse completely. The remains are just as Mallow remembered it from when the dragons first attacked the land.
Ms. Mouz: Oh my. These buildings are terrible.
Mario: Yeah.
Koops: Mallow, after we take care of the dragons, we will help rebuild this place.
Mallow: Thanks, but let's look for Peach and the dragons first.
As they walk and try to look for Princess Peach, a scream is heard.
Peach: Mario!
Mario: Peach!
Mario and the gang see Peach stuck near the entrance of Nimbus Castle. Peach is too high up so she cannot come down without huring herself.
Vivian: We found her.
Gonzales Jr: But where did those puffy dragons go?
Hooktail: Over here.
Mario and the Gang: What?
Then Mario and the gang see Hooktail, Gloomtail, Bonetail, Czar Dragon, and Gyix Dragon coming out from behind the Nimbus Castle, somehow having managed to hide behind it without being noticed.
Gloomtail: Glad you could make it.
Bonetail: GROOOOOAAAANN! (Now we can destroy you.)
Gyix Dragon: Now it's time to defeat you.
Mario: That will-a never happen.
Czar Dragon: We'll see.
Hooktail: We first want to play with you. Now...
Czar Dragon: Helios!
Gloomtail: Dry Bones and Dark Bones!
Gyix Dragon: Cavios!
Hooktail: Dull Bones and Red Bones!
Helios, Cavios, Dry Bones, Dull Bones, Red Bones, and Dark Bones are starting to come out at the dragons' commands. Dull Bones, Red Bones, Dry Bones, and Dark Bones comes out of the remains of the castle. Helio and Cavios appear from nowhere near Czar Dragon and Gyix Dragon. Cavios look just like Helios except it looks like small ice rocks. There are very many minions surrounding Mario and the gang; Mario and the gang are very outnumbered. The gang are freaked out by the numbers and whisper together.
Mallow: There's too many of them. We can't take them all.
Kooks: I agree.
Mario: We have to try.
Gonzales Jr: We can take them. They're nothing to us.
Goombella: We're ready to take them. Now stop being discouraged.
The Dragons: ATTACK!
After the very loud commands from the dragons, the Dull Bones, Red Bones, Dry Bones, and Dark Bones run at the gang. They are picking up bones and throwing at Mario and the gang. They dodge the bones and attack the Bones. The Helios and Cavios dive at Mario and the gang. They try to dodge but the Dull Bones grab on to them and the Helios and Cavios bomb at them.
Mario and the Gang: Augh!
Meanwhile in Bean Valley, the Koopas are just getting on the cloud bus. Some of the Koopalings worry about the bus.
Lemmy: Should we be worried that the bus cannot carry all the weight?
Roy: Hey!
Bowser: I'm sure the bus can carry us... right?
Nimbus King: Am I supposed to know?
Nimbus Queen: Well, you'll just have to find out. Now get on the bus.
All the Koopas get on the bus.
Cloud Bus Driver: We're taking off!
The royal cloud bus begins to lift off slowly.
Ludwig: It seems that it can carry all of us after all.
Iggy: But it's going a little slower.
Wendy: That's probably not good.
Morton: MMMMMPH.
Bowser: Relax, it's not like the bus is going to drop down like a dead person. All right, hurry up.
Cloud Bus Driver: Fine.
The bus begins
to pick up speed. It moves upward, heading to their destination, Nimbus
Land. Again as before, the bus disappears out of sight.
Part 4: Battle
Chapter 13
While the bus is carrying the Koopas up to Nimbus Land, Mario and the gang are becoming exhausted from fighting the dragons' minions. They are so tired, they can only say a few words to someone. There are more minions than they can destroy. The minions are constantly attacking Mario and the gang; they never give them time to recover. More Helios and Cavios are diving at Mario and the gang, trying to bomb them. They are able to dodge some of them, but they are occasionally hit by them. The Bones are throwing bones at them. Some of the Bones are building more reinforcements to make their numbers grow larger without ever letting their numbers get low.
Goombella: Too... many...
Gonzales Jr: Where are those... Koopas?
Mario: Anytime... soon... I hope.
While they are fighting the minions, the dragons are talking to each other. Mario and the gang are too busy fighting to hear them. However, they can hear Bonetail's roars.
Gloomtail: Mwahahaha! You'll doomed!
Hooktail: Shouldn't we fight them now? They're weakened and tired.
Bonetail: RWOAAN! (She's got a point.)
Czar Dragon: Well Hooktail, it's because our minions are doing fine without us. They can destroy Mario and those pesky people.
Gyix Dragon: Yes... but I'll bet he doesn't want to go there because he's afraid that they would still defeat him.
Czar Dragon: Not true! I can beat them in their state.
Gyix Dragon: Right...
Czar Dragon: Grrrr...
However, their conversation is interrupted by a roar. It is not a very loud roar, but it is loud enough for everyone to hear it. The minions stop attacking and turn in the direction the roar is coming from. Mario and the gang also stop attacking and look in the direction the roar is coming from..
Hooktail: What was that?
Gloomtail: I don't know, Sister.
Kooks: What was that?
Mario: I think I-a know who. I recognized-a that roar.
Mario makes a small smile.
Goombella: They're here?
Mario: Yep.
The royal cloud bus appears in Nimbus Land, carrying the Koopas. The Koopas jump off the bus and charge their way towards the minions.
Bowser: No one defeats Mario but me!
Ludwig: And we're here to help.
Bobbery: Well what are you waiting for? Help us.
The Koopas attacks the minions. Bowser breathes fire at the Bones, burning them. Morton tackles at the Bones that Bowser attacked before those Bones can recover, destroying them. Lemmy freezes some of the Helios with his Freeze Gun. Roy rams and punches some of the minions. Ludwig breathes fireballs at some of the Cavios. Wendy, Larry, and Iggy fire beams from their wands at some of the minions. Mario and the gang join in the fight and help destroy the minions. The Helios and Cavios are quickly being defeated and the Bones are being destroyed before they can build reinforcements.
Czar Dragon: Aw man, no fair. They got reinforcement.
Gyix Dragon: Drat...
Soon Mario and the gang and the Koopas destroy all the dragons' minions. The remains and bones of the Bones are black, burned, and broken. The Bones cannot recover. The Helios and Cavios all vanish. The dragons fly toward Mario and the gang and the Koopas. They look mad as if the first phrase of their plan has been ruined.
Gloomtail: It looks like we have to defeat you all by ourselves.
Bowser: Bring it on.
Ms. Mowz: What he said.
Vivian: We're ready to send you away.
Bonetail: ROOOOAAAAR! (Let's do it.)
The dragons charge at them.
