Super Mario Moonlight:
Mario decided
to take a break at Pinna Park, but instead found a rampaging Yoshi robot
destroying everything! He defeated the robot successfully and was just
about to catch Bowser Jr. when he was stopped by Bowser Junior’s remote
control. Peach is still being held captive by Bowser! Will Mario foil Bowser’s
plans? Find out!
In the castle in the sky...
Peach: Hey wait a minute! Why is the story being started here this time?
Bowser: I paid the author $20 to start the story this way.
Mario Koopa: I’m going to buy Super Mario Strikers!
He runs to the video game store. Meanwhile, a Koopa walks into Bowser's room.
Koopa: Your maliciousness! I have news!
Bowser: Spill it!
The Koopa looks to the right and spills a glass of water sitting on a table.
Koopa: I have received news that Mario has collected *gulp* five Shine Sprites.
Bowser: WHAT?! I know my plan was to let him get shine sprites but I never thought that he’d succeed! I was sure that that robot would have squashed him!
Koopa: Yes, well there’s other bad news, sir. You see, your son was tired of looking for Shine Sprites and being followed by Mario, so he decided to check into Hotel Delfino and take a break from-
Bowser: WHAT?!
Bowser grabs the Koopa by the throat.
Bowser: MY OWN SON IS TAKING A BREAK FROM LOOKING FOR SHINE SPRITES?! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET SHINE SPRITES NOW?!
Koopa: I *cough* thought that was ACK what Mario was for.
Bowser: Good point.
Bowser lets go of the Koopa. The Koopa falls on its shell and catches its breath.
Bowser: Still… Junior knows not to take a break unless I give him permission. I must get him!
Koopa: Should I get some troops to go get your son?
Bowser: Yes. But be careful. With that paintbrush he has he’ll be difficult to catch.
In Delfino Plaza...
Mario heads over to the lighthouse.
Mario: Fortunetella? Hello!
Mario looks at Fortunetella’s crystal ball and sees a note taped to it. The note says: Dear Mario, my crystal ball said you were coming. It said you were going to ask where to go to relax because Pinna Park was a bust. Go to Hotel Delfino. Sincerely, Fortunetella. PS: I’ll be back in 5 minutes; I went out to get bananas and pineapples.
Mario: Hotel Delfino? Where’s that?
A Pianta walks over to Mario.
Pianta: Sirena Beach.
Mario: Excuse me?
Pianta: Hotel Delfino is on Sirena Beach.
Mario: Ok, two things. One, how do I get there? And two, does it involve a cannon?
Pianta: Nah. It doesn’t involve any cannon. Just a warp pipe.
Mario: Where’s the warp pipe?
Pianta: It’s on top of this here building.
Mario looks on top of a building.
Pianta: But the thing is, nobody can get up there so I think you won’t get there. Sorry, little dude.
Mario: Oh yeah?
Mario switches to the Rocket Nozzle and rockets to the top of the building.
Pianta: Woah! That… was… AWESOME!!!
Mario jumps into the warp pipe. He starts to fall-
Mario: Hey!
WAIT! He starts to fall but he uses the Hover Nozzle to slowly lower to the ground.
Mario: Thank you!
Mario goes to the front of the hotel. He sees a Pianta with a name tag that says “MANAGER”.
Mario: Let’s see… “WAI…TER”. Waiter! You’re the waiter! Do you have cheese!
FLUDD: MARIO! Didn’t you hear what the author said?
Mario: Huh? “MAN… AGER”.
Manger: Yes. I’m the manager. How do you do?
Mario: Good. Well, I don’t see any screaming. No running. And no monsters! Good job! May I check in?
Manager: You checked in an hour ago...
Mario: Huh?
Shadow Mario rises up beside Mario.
Mario: AHH! Get back in your goop pile, fiend!
Manager: Hello! I- wait. One, two of you? I’m confused. Well I don’t know which one of you is the one who checked in earlier so I’ll let you both go in.
Shadow Mario lowers into the goop pile he came up from. Mario jumps into it. Mario comes up in Shadow Mario’s room. Shadow Mario sees Mario and turns back into Bowser Jr.
Bowser Jr: How are you doing, pest?
Mario: Good. How are you, Chain Chomp breath?
Bowser Jr: Booger nose!
Mario: Crazee Dayzee!
Bowser Jr: Dunce!
Mario: Son of a Koopa that I’ve beaten 1000 times!
Bowser Jr: No one talks about my father that way, cheese face!
Mario: YAH!
Bowser Jr: YAH!
Bowser Jr. hits Mario with his magic paintbrush. Mario hits a painting and goes into it.
Bowser Jr: *gasp* Cheese face?
Bowser Jr. sticks his paintbrush into the painting. He’s pulled in along with his paintbrush. Mario and Bowser Jr. are seen falling at a fast pace. Two lightning bolts head toward Mario and Bowser Jr. One lightning bolt hits FLUDD and FLUDD disappears. The other one hits Bowser Junior’s paintbrush and it disappears. They land in what seems to be the beach but none of the huts are there and neither is the hotel. It just looks like a regular beach.
Bowser Jr: Ok, on a scale of 1-10, this is a 10 on the “this stinks” scale.
Mario: I don’t know what’s going on but I know that-
EYAHHH!!!
Mario and Bowser Jr. look at the ocean and see A GIANT MANTA MADE OF WATER!
Mario and Bowser Jr: AHHH!
The manta shoots a thunderbolt at Mario and Mario dodges. The manta shoots one at Bowser Jr. and Bowser Jr. dodges. Meanwhile, Bowser is watching everything on a screen.
Bowser: A giant manta?! You took my son’s paint brush and then you sent a giant MANTA AFTER HIM?!
Koopa: Well you said to be careful because it would be hard to catch him if he had his paintbrush!
Bowser: And what part of that tells you to send A GIANT MANTA AFTER HIM?!
Koopa: Well I-
Bowser: TO THE DUNGEON!!!
The Koopa zooms off to the dungeon.
Bowser: Junior! I know you can do it!
While Bowser’s watching Junior on his screen, Peach runs out of the throne room.
Back at the fight...
The manta continues shooting thunderbolts and Mario and Bowser Jr. continue dodging.
Bowser Jr: I’ll call for backup!
Bowser Jr. pulls out a walkie-talkie and starts talking into it.
Bowser Jr: Calling all Koopatrols! This is Bowser Jr!
Mario: And Mario!
Bowser Jr.: I’m calling for backup! I repeat: I’m calling for backup!
In the castle in the sky...
Koopa: Bowser! Your son’s calling for backup!
Bowser: That’s my boy! Always being smart! Give him backup now!
On the beach...
A bunch of Koopas with cannons appear.
General Koop: FIRE!
The Koopas start firing Bullet Bills at Mario. Mario dodges all of them. Bowser Jr. punches General Koop in the face.
Bowser Jr: HELLO! BIG MONSTER RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! SHOOT AT THE MONSTER, NOT MARIO!
General Koop: Yes sir! Redirect fire, men!
The Koopas start shooting at the manta. The Bullet Bills go through the manta, leaving holes in it. The manta gets more water and heals itself. The manta grabs the Koopas and shoves them in the cannons. The Koopas are shot out and land in the sea. The manta shoots thunderbolts at the Bullet Bill cannons and they disappear.
General Koop: RETREAT!
The Koopas get out of the water and they (along with General Koop) all run away. Mario whistles and the sandbirds come. Mario tells them to fly straight into the manta.
Bowser Jr: What are you doing?
Mario: 3, 2, 1… FIRE!
The sandbirds launch themselves toward the manta and the manta explodes into a bunch of water. The sandbirds leave. The tide comes in and then it goes out. The manta rebuilds itself. Mario grabs Bowser Jr. and throws him at the manta. Bowser Jr. makes a hole in the manta.
Bowser Jr: What’d you do that for?
Mario points at the manta. The manta is trying to heal itself but it can’t.
Mario: The sandbirds hit the manta when the tide came in. The manta came on to the beach with the tide and then exploded. When the tide went out the manta was still a watery mess and so it couldn’t go with the tide. When it rebuilt itself it wasn’t in the water. So-
Bowser Jr: English, Mario! I don’t speak Italian.
Mario: The manta can’t heal itself.
Bowser Jr: So it’s vulnerable?
Mario: Yeah!
Mario punches the manta uncontrollably and Bowser Jr. does the same. The manta grabs both of them and shocks them. Mario breaks free and then he karate chops the tentacle holding Bowser Jr. and it comes off. (It’s water. It’s not gross.) Mario and Bowser Jr. punch the manta together and the manta explodes and dies. In the manta’s place appear FLUDD and Bowser Junior’s magic paintbrush. Mario puts FLUDD back on and Bowser Jr. grabs his paintbrush and turns into Shadow Mario. Mario and Shadow Mario are teleported back to the hotel room they were in. The manager comes in.
Manager: Hey boys! A Shine Sprite’s downstairs!
Mario and Shadow Mario look at each other.
Shadow Mario paints a pile of goop and jumps in. The pile disappears and Mario runs downstairs. By the time he gets down the Shine Sprite’s already been claimed by Shadow Mario!
Shadow Mario: HA HA HA!
Shadow Mario runs out the door and escapes.
FLUDD: Mario… it appears that… the perpetrator won.
Mario: HA HA! This was just one round! Next time, I’ll be ready. He won’t get away so easily!
The Shine Sprites in Mario’s pocket start glowing and Mario is teleported back to Delfino Plaza.
Will Mario still be able to collect eight Shine Sprites? Will Peach find her way through the castle? What does she have planned? Stay tuned and find out!
