Roy's Boxing Arena Rules

There are some rules here in my Boxing Arena, and you had better follow them, or you'll end up against me in the ring like so many other tourists have. Trust me, it's not good- for you!

Rules for Voters (how voting works)

Each week, you will be able to vote for one of two, three, or four fighters, which will be listed as competing on the main page of this section. You will only be able to vote for the fighters listed, so consider your choices and vote wisely (meaning, you vote for the one whose name I have written in caps on the ballot).

Voting each week will start on Saturday, at whatever time Lemmy decides to get off the couch and do his stinkin' update, and will end on Friday night, at which point I will count up the votes, select a winner (whoever I put in caps), and record the battle for all to memorize.

You may only vote ONCE per week. Additional votes will be deleted. There are NO exceptions, not even if you made a mistake and voted for the wrong guy, or whatever other stupid excuse you might have. So vote carefully. The ballot will list the dates the voting is running from, so be sure to check that if you're not sure if the ballot has been updated for the new week yet.

You MUST include your (nick)name on the ballot. Ballots sent to me with no name will NOT be counted, no exceptions.

The fields asking for why I should count your vote and who should fight next week are optional; you do not have to answer them, although you might want to give me a good reason to count that lousy vote of yours, especially if you really ask for it by voting for the guy not in caps. Please note that to be eligible to battle next week a character MUST be an enemy of Mario AND have at least one picture in Lemmy's Photos.

Sometimes voting irregularities will occur; voting may have to be extended, canceled, or whatever, no doubt a fault of Lemmy's. Check this section's main page for special voting details.

Rules for Fighters

All fighters will be an enemy of Mario, and must have a picture in Lemmy's Photos.

I will select which fighters will compete, based on whoever I like and, perhaps, input from the voting ballots.

Fighters may only enter once per season. If they are knocked out of competition they may be selected again during the next season.

Winners of Roy's Fighting Crown will not be allowed to compete in future seasons.

Most battles will be Round One battles, in which two fighters will go head to head until one knocks the other unconscious or out of the ring, or until one gives up. Round One battles will usually include one Champion (see next rule) and one Challenger. If a Challenger loses a Round One battle, that fighter is knocked out for the season.

Fighters that win in Round One will receive the title of Champion, and will be invited (i.e., required) to compete against a new Challenger the following week. Champions that win three weeks in a row will retire from fighting and earn a spot in Round Three. In addition, three week winners will become the announcer during Round One battles, while the previous announcer will become the referee. Champions that are defeated in weeks two or three will qualify for Round Two.

Round One battles will continue in succession until three fighters have qualified for Round Three. At this time all the fighters who have qualified for Round Two will compete in a series of two-, three-, and four-fighter free-for-alls. The number of fighters in each battle will depend on how many fighters have qualifed for Round Two, and there will be as few battles as possible, under the restriction of no more than four fighters per battle. The final battle will result in there being a Round Two Winner, who will secure the fourth spot in Round Three. All other Round Two qualifiers will be knocked out for the season.

The four fighters that qualify for Round Three will compete in a frantic four-fighter free-for-all. The winner will earn the title of Supreme Champion and will receive one of the two spots in Round Four. The other Round Three qualifiers will be knocked out for the season.

When two fighters qualify for Round Four, the Season Finale will be held. Voting for this event will run for five weeks (but since voters can vote once each week, there is no change in the rules for them, thus no mention of this under the voting rules), and the winner will be selected based on the results of each week considered separately. The winner of Round Four will leave with Roy's Fighting Crown and will be pictured on the main page of the section until a new fighter wins the Crown. The loser will just leave, and probably not in one piece either.

Every 25 weeks I will personally battle a non-Mario character, just to make sure I stay in shape... although, I get enough of a workout beating up pesky tourists. Sometimes Champions complain to me that the extra week they have to wait before they can battle a new Challenger hurts them. I have two words to say to them: "Tough luck!" Don't complain to me about it.

All battle results are final. No rematches!

And no more rules either. Now that you know all the rules, I trust that there will be no confusion. Well, there had better not be, anyway.

Now you get a choice!
You can go back to the boxing arena, because I know you loved it so much!
Anyone who rats about the conditions here will be personally pounded by me! If you'd like a pounding, you can also go back to Lemmy's Land.
