Larry's Bios

Thanks to Fwipp Deathspeeder for this bio

Name: Lord Crump
Race: X-Naut
Rank: Lord (higher than an elite X-Naut, and second-in-line to Grodus)
Likes: Being in command, bossing people around, getting Crystal Stars for Grodus
Dislikes: Punishment; he will try ANYTHING to get in Grodus's favor

When Lord Crump met Mario for the first time in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, he didn't think much of him, only that he was interfering with his mission to extract any info on the Crystal Stars. Lord Crump was generally peeved after Mario beat him, so he sent his mini X-Naut platoon after him in a mad frenzy. He got so worked up that he didn't notice Mario escape.

Later on, Lord Crump got strict orders from Grodus to secure the Punies' tree, under grounds that somewhere in it was a Crystal Star. At this point Crump had been specially chosen for the assignment, because he had impressed Grodus with his newest creation: the Magnus battle robot! Crump and his team took the tree by storm, which was incredibly easy since the Punies couldn't retaliate. He sealed off all entrances to the tree (that he knew of) and sealed most of the Punies away in impenetrable cages, while his forces cut deeper into the tree, searching for the hidden Crystal Star. He also enlisted the help of Jabbies, strange bug things that the Punies feared. Using the Jabbies, they were able to go further into the tree without interference.

Mario got together some partners, and with the help of a tip from a helpful Puni named Punio he was able to get into the tree, despite Crump's security measures. Mario fought X-Nauts as he battled deep into the tree, and obtained clearance codes for Crump's doors. At one point after Mario had freed the Punies, he used them to defeat the Jabbies and their hives, gaining access to a sacred part of the tree. There he used the help from the Punies to uncover the Crystal Star. But that was a mistake.

Crump, who was waiting for Mario to arrive, then jumped out from his hiding place and stole the green Crystal Star. He then battled Mario with the Magnus Von Grapple. He almost beat him, but Mario found the robot's weakness, and destoyed it. But Crump wasn't done yet. He planted a bomb in the tree, and made his escape. If he couldn't get the Star with his robot, he'd retrieve it from the rubble! But Mario escaped safely and Crump had to report back to Grodus, who said that Magnus wasn't advanced enough, so he sent Crump and some X-Naut PhDs to rebuild the robot. After a while, Grodus decided to send Crump back out to investigate a Crystal Star siting in Twilight Town. There he met Bowser's army. Just as the two armies were about to see whose was better, a misplaced Super Bomb (by Beldam) exploded, sending Crump, Bowser, and their armies away.

Grodus, learning that the Crystal Star from Twilight Town had already been taken by Mario, again, sent Crump to spy on him. After Crump's scouts reported that Mario was going after a Crystal Star on Keelhaul key, Crump devised a plan. He disguised himself as a pirate and followed Mario out to sea. The ship was destroyed by ghost Podoboos, and the entire crew was shipwrecked on the island. Crump, eager to gain everyone's trust, helped the crew use the remains of Flavio's ship to build a shelter. After Mario saved him from some Piranha Plants, he was confident that he would be able to get the Crystal Star without much resistance, judging by Mario's force. He snuck to the rear of the island and called the X-Naut platoon. They brought with them a massive battleship. Now he could get his revenge! ... After he safely got the Crystal Star, of course.

After his scouts learned that Mario had obtained the Crystal Star, he ordered the battleship to open fire. To his dismay, Mario retailiated with a surprise of his own: the ghost pirate Captain Cortez's invincible ship! He was once again forced to retreat after Mario beat him again with the help of the ghost Podoboos.

When Crump returned to the X-Nauts' base, Grodus was not pleased, but he decided to give Crump another chance since Mario was coming to rescue Peach and he needed all the help he could get. Crump perfected the Magnus Von Grapple, turning it into the Magnus V.2. He almost defeated Mario, but Mario had gained so much power from the Crystal Stars and his partners that the Magnus was defeated again, and Crump was sent out of the base to regions unknown. Little is known about this time, only that Crump DID return to the base EVENTUALLY.

When Grodus was defeated by the Shadow Queen and sent back to the base, Crump was promoted to Grodus's position, since Grodus was only a head at this point. Reports say that Crump tried to re-establish the moon base, but a traitorous computer destroyed the entrances. Rumors say that Crump and the X-Nauts are attempting to rebuild an underwater base somewhere in Delfino Isle... but those are only rumors.
