An enemy found in the Forest Maze of Super Mario RPG - yes, that forest - he camouflages himself to look like helpful Mushrooms that Mario may be trying to pick up.  He is able to attack physically twice per turn and can transform his foes into Mushrooms like himself, but still isn't one of the forest's most intimidating monsters.  He's also apparently able to mascarade as a lamp, as seen in Monstro Town.

Amanita may not have been too tough in SMRPG, but in the Sports Hall, where anyone who is able to mask his appearance seems to do well, he made it into Round Three of Season Three, even defeating eventual season winner Larry along the way, but was beaten by someone even better at disgusing himself, Tanoomba.  Forever besmirching the Mushroom's good name, he entered the tournament at rank 29.  Despite revolutionizing his arsenal, he was outsmarted by Robo-Chomp at every turn, and was eliminated.
