Bowser's Castle is the location of some of the most memorable moments of Mario gameplay, but it's only because of Bowser's Inside Story that it can pass itself off as an enemy.  In that game, Fawful and Midbus took it over and roboticized it, then commanded it to fight against its true owner, Bowser of course.  The castle was able to launch bullets and send out waves of troops, but after Bowser's adrenaline caused him to grow to giant size, it wasn't much of a match.

When not being used to launch attacks, Bowser Castle is still an imposing stucture from the outside, and filled with traps and troops on the inside.  But it may not be as sturdy as it looks, as it has been seen to require repairs on multiple occassions.  For some reason Bowser seems to have a difference castle, located in a different place, in each game.

Bowser Castle was rebuilt in Roy's Sports Hall during Season Nine and was impregnable to attack from Eerie and Peach's Castle.  But since defeating its natural rival it seems to have crumbled to bits.  Bowser Castle was kept out of Round Three when it was infiltrated by Count Cannoli.  Given an unprecedented second chance to earn its way straight into Round Three, Bowser Castle was outsmarted by another thief, Bandit.  One more defeat, in Round Two against Count Bleck, finally eliminated Bowser Castle from the season,
