More about Captain Syrup...
Games: Wario Land 1 and 2
 
Captain Syrup is the leader of the Black Sugar Pirates based on Kitchen Island.  Some might like to consider her Wario's nemesis, but these days she may have to wait in line behind Mario and fellow thief Carpaccio.  She was the main enemy of Wario Land 1 and 2 but, now that I think of it, she may be the least evil of any main villain that I include within the Mario Universe.  In Wario Land she had stolen a giant golden statue of Peach - not so nice, to be sure, but it's not exactly at the level of the Shadow Queen or the Dark Star.  Who even knows if Wario would have returned it; right after the statue was unearthed from Syrup's castle, Mario appeared to airlift it away.  In Wario Land 2 Syrup committed the heinous act of stealing back from her rival, Wario.  That's... probably more stupid than evil, you're really asking for it when you steal from Wario.

More a thinker than a fighter, Syrup has not been seen to engage Wario in physical combat, not that many could stand up to him.  In Wario Land 1 she summoned a genie from a magic lamp to oppose Wario, while in Wario Land 2 she fought Wario using various mechanical contraptions.  She apparently eventually learned that opposing Wario directly is unwise and, after a long absence, reappeared in Wario Land Shake It, where she helped send Wario on his way and sold him items, only to make off with the bottomless treasure bag in the end.  So i guess, the last time Syrup's been seen, she actually won!  Still, she deserves better - she's certainly one of the most memorable characters from the Wario Land series in my mind, she's a pirate captain for crying out loud... This should not be the last we've seen of this slick gal.
