Though I have been known to mistakenly write his name as Fry Guy, this is not a type of Shy Guy and is not related to them, not even to the also fiery Pyro Guy.  Mind you, I don't know what's underneath his flames and I don't think it's worth finding out.  Fryguy is one of Wart's generals from Mario 2.  Oddly enough this fire spirit guarded the ice world, which he somehow managed not to melt.  He flew around spitting fireballs but was vulnerable to Mushroom Blocks.  After being hit a few times, he broke into four miniature versions of himself and hopped around the floor.  Mario might have been out of luck if he found himself surrounded by the mini Fryguys, but in the end he was able to defeat each one with another hit from a Mushroom Block and advance.

Fryguy made impressive runs in the Sports Hall in both Seasons Three and Eight, reaching Round Three each time, but was not hot enough to touch Kamek in Season Three or Spy Guy and King Boo in Season Eight.  He appeared to be a threat to go deep in the Season Ten Tournament, entering as Seed 26, but he crashed and burned, as his chances were extinguished in the first round by Amazing Flying Hammer Brother.
