Grate Guy is some kind of jester who spends his time balancing on a ball, not unlike the illustrious webmaster of this site himself.  See, so the Koopalings could have had some roles in Super Mario RPG!  Ahem...  Er, yes, so while it's not clear what his connection is to Booster, he and his brother Knife Guy - He's got like a twin, too?!  Iggy, c'mere!  ...  Um, yes, so Grate Guy and Knife Guy fought Mario and his friends at the top of Booster Tower, at the spot where Peach had once been held, allowing Booster's party to get to Marrymore first even as Mario would eventually give chase up Booster Hill.  While his brother mainly used physical attacks, Grate Guy used spells and other less conventional abilities.  After being defeated, Grate Guy went on to open a Casino just outside Bean Valley.

Grate Guy rolled into Round Three of Season Three in Roy's Sports Hall, even if he hit a bump along the way and had to take the Round Two route, but was kicked aside by Kamek in his only Sports Hall appearance.  Entering the Season Ten Tournament as Seed 22, it looked like Grate Guy had a favorite matchup in a fight against Jelectro.  But Grate Guy may have spent too much time pandering to the crowd.  Or he may have fallen victim to the ball-riders curse that seems to have affected the Sports Hall.  Whatever the case, Grate Guy was defeated, and eliminated from the tournament.
