A fat joke with a beak... Yeah, let's take a bird, make it fat, and call it Huff Puff - No, Huffin Puffin, cuz it's also gonna be a puffin, so the fat joke is ok!...  Yeah, that's probably how the reasoning went.  Um, I've classified this as an enemy but I don't remember if it can actually hurt Yoshi.  Mostly the species is to Yoshi's benefit; Huffin Puffins appear as a group containing a mother and children.  When the mother is attacked, Yoshi can collect the children to use similarly to eggs.  In fact the Huffin Puffin kids mainly function better than eggs because they will circle back to Yoshi, like a boomerang, to be used over and over unless they hit something like a wall on the way.  On the other hand, only four Huffin Puffins can be held at a time, and they cannot be carried between courses.
