Talk about the forgotten past.  This electric jellyfish was prevalent enough in Mario 3, but hasn't been seen since.  Some other games have jellyfish in them but they have not been identified as Jelectros and probably aren't since they can move.  Oh yeah, identifying trait about Jelectro - he's immobile.  Well, actually they were seen to move in the Mario 3 cartoons, but never mind that.  Despite his lack of mobility, Jelectro won three matches in Roy's Sports Hall during Season One, including against eventual season winner Blooper, and would have been a Round Three Qualifier if not for that season's different rules.  Instead, with three wins against just one loss he'll settle for a pretty decent record.  Shocking!

After years of absence from not only the games but Roy's Sports Hall as well, Jelectro is back for the Season Ten Tournament, entering at rank 43.  With a first round match against Grate Guy it looked like Jelectro would quickly retreat back into obscurity, but amazingly enough, Jelectro won the fight!  His second round opponent will be Birdo.  She may be tough for Jelectro to handle, but if he can just stay immobile within the winning position he finds himself in of late then I guess he'll be fine!
