More about Microgoomba...
Games: Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario 64, New Super Mario Bros.

This strange, miniature Goomba is dropped in waves by flying Paragoombas in Mario 3.  They are unable to hurt Mario directly (unlike Baby Bloopers), but will cling to him and hamper his jumping ability, which despite not being terribly effective is at least very unique among Mario foe tactics.  After a few ineffectual jumps, Mario can shake off the Microgoombas clinging to him and continue on his way.  Microgoombas are also presumed to be the driving force behind the bouncing brick blocks that appear in a few levels in the game and that can directly damage Mario.  Outside Mario 3, Microgoombas appear without being dropped by Paragoombas in SM64 and NSMB, and are able to hurt Mario directly if only because Mario himself is miniature when he encounters them there.

Microgoomba turned the world on its head by somehow defeating Shadoo, ranked 8th at the time, in his Sports Hall debut in Season Nine.  But he couldn't cheat his destiny twice and was crushed by Gloomtail the following week.  The winds of fate blew Microgoomba into a Round Two matchup in which he appeared to actually stand a chance, and at first he rose to the occassion, but in the end he was topped by the Axem Rangers and eliminated.
