Why yes, rocks do have gender, didn't you know?  Well, while climbing Thwomp Volcano, the four Mario Brothers from Partners in Time run into Mrs. Thwomp arguing with her husband, presumably named Mr. Thwomp.  Now he doesn't seem like a bad guy but as I recall he said something unflattering and the misses got upset.  Then she took it out on the Marios.  In battle she reminds me of Trunkle from Superstar Saga.  She breaks into four versions of herself like he does, anyway.  And like Trunkle, she's not very hard.  Actually, she doesn't seem very much like a Thwomp, which is too bad if you ask me, especially since this is the first time a Thwomp has been a boss.  Actually it's also the first time a Thwomp has been an enemy in an RPG.  But if you want real Thwomp action, you'll have to get it from her hubbie.  At least he is able to move straight up and down as you use him as a lift to get into the volcano.
