Also known as Fever, the Red Virus is one of the disease-causing semi-organisms from the Dr. Mario series.  I consider it to be the most violent of the three viruses even if it's not much known for attacking other than its abstract ability to cause sickness.  While Red Virus appears distinctive from the Blue and Yellow varieties, Superstar Saga suggests they may actually be one and the same as damaging any Virus will cause it to change color.  For some reason, Red Virus and its differently-colored kin will be defeated if they are surrounded by too much of the same color as themselves, even if the only thing surrounding them is more Viruses.

Despite this weakness, Red Virus was able to survive a few weeks in the Red Corner as champion of Roy's Sports Hall, and made it into Round Three of Season Six, but the bio-outbreak was ended by Larry in Fever's only Sports Hall appearance.  It should be no surprise that the Sports Hall is infested enough such that Red Virus was able to appear in the Season Ten Tournament, seeded 32.  He came close to infecting the higher brackets of the tournament, but was vaccinated by Duplighost in the first round and eliminated.
