More about Roger the Potted Ghost...
Games: Yoshi's Island

I'm not sure the logic of flowers having ghosts, but that's more or less what we got when Kamek created this creature - a ghost flowing out of a flower pot - to serve as the boss of world two in Yoshi's Island.  Maybe this was to punish Yoshi for having broken so many flower pots along the way, I don't know.  Within the game he is known only as the Potted Ghost, and I'm not sure whether his name was known until the remake.  He is the only enemy of his kind in the game, in contrast to most other bosses that end up being the giant form of a previously seen enemy; but smaller Potted Ghost enemies to appear in the sequel.  Roger is immobile but will defend himself by pushing Yoshi away (which does not hurt) and spitting a hovering brand of blue fireballs (which do).  If you're careless or unlucky, you could get pushed into the fireballs but mainly that shouldn't happen and he's kind of a pushover - literally, because actually Roger has two Shy Guys behind him, pushing him towards Yoshi, who in turns needs to push back, shoving Roger into the hole on his end of the room.  In theory Yoshi could end up getting dunked into the hole on his side of the room, but if you let that happen... well, you're not very good.
