More about Wart...
Games: Super Mario Bros. 2
 
Wart is the main foe of SMB2 and has taken control of the dream land of Sub-con with the help of his Dream Machine to create foes loyal to himself.  He doesn't seem to be able to control what this machine produces; based on the manual it seems to be that he picked his generals after seeing what he had to work with.  Wart is deathly allergic to vegetables, so it's unfortunately that the Dream Machine he keeps with him produces them as a byproduct that can be used as a weapon against him.  But I can't really blame him, I couldn't stand having seven disgusting vegetables thrown in my mouth, either.  Anyway, it's not like it's too easy to catch that many veggies and throw them in his mouth while he's spitting poisonous bubbles at you.  Bubbles may not seem like a very cool weapon, but hey, they work.

I've heard rumors that Wart has appeared in one of the Legend of Zelda games but I'm not sure this is true.  I have previously suggested that Wart is actually Bowser's brother, mutated from his Koopa form by an accident, and that he has Koopa children; all of this only to help SMB2 fit in with the rest of the series.  But of course it's possible Wart has nothing to do with anyone and is only around to make Mario's life more, ah, interesting.  He was left out from the Super Mario Brothers Super Show even with the inclusion of Mouser, Triclyde, and others, but did make an appearance in one of the choose-your-own adventures.  He is featured in Rise of the MK, an excellent four-part flash series.

Wart scored a bunch of wins back in Season Three to earn himself a winning record but has only been seen once since.  Roy selected him to compete as a wildcard contender for the Season Ten Tournament, due to his winning good looks.  And if you believe that, I have a donut bridge to sell ya.  Whatever the real reason, it didn't help.  Wart's path into the tournament was choked off by Bob-omb and he was eliminated.
