Previously on Super Mario Land Ultra: The Journey Return, Dragonmasu forfeited during a match of intensity. Cannonballs, bombs, torpedoes, and even coconuts hit hard upon him. Then the Mekabon presented Mario, Luigi, and Grubby two air gliders as thanks for defeating Dragonmasu. So now World 3 awaits their arrival.
Meanwhile in the Sky Pop, the heroes are all getting the feeling of sleep.
Luigi: Mario... ZzZzZzZz... We need to stop... ZzZz...
Mario: ZzZzZzZzZz-
Grubby: CHEESE MAN!!! Concentrate!
Mario: ZzZz Okay-a ZzZ I ZzZ will-a Zz Zz ZZZ!!!
So Mario parks somewhere next to a series of small huts.
WORLD 3: Get ready to rock and roll
The heroes start searching the tribe and find a group of Spear Guys.
Spear Guy Chief: Aauh! Visitors have arrived!
The Spear Guy Leader runs towards the heroes and greets them with a bow.
Spear Guy Chief: Welcome to our humble establishment. We hope you enjoy your stay.
Grubby: Boy, would we! We need to rest for the night.
Spear Guy Chief: ... So granted. But first...
Moments later, the Spear Guys are all serving Mario, Luigi and Grubby the finest dishes of food. They are all sitting around the campfire and eating.
Grubby: Oh man. This is better than I expected.
Mario: Better?! THEY DON'T-A HAVE CHEESE!!!
Spear Guys all freeze, astounded by the sheer stupidy of Mario.
Spear Guy Villager: ??? Mario? How ungrateful are you! We gave you food and yo-
Luigi: Heheheh... Don't mind my brother, he just gets this way when he's tired.
So the heroes all go into their hut and sleep for the night. The next morning is a disaster, the Spear Guys are all uncomfortable due to what has happened.
Elderly Spear Guy: Last night... Our... our chief has been taken by... by... the hardest men of the mountains! ... I saw it... I saw it all...
Luigi: Ooh... That's terrible. Maybe we can help out.
Mario: For what-a price?
Luigi: MARIO!!! Don't be selfish!
Spear Guy Villager: They live on the far side over that way.
The villager points to a vast field with nothing but little bumps of rocks. On the far side is a castle.
Grubby: We'll go get him! We promise!
The heroes run toward the field.
Elderly Spear Guy: Good luck...

The heroes are now walking in the middle of some mois. The castle lies only a few yards away.
Grubby: Hmm... These guys must love mois.
Mario: Ssshh! The-a rocks have-a ears.
Grubby: Here we go, Cheese Man being stupid again.
Mario: But ser-
The mois start to groan, they move and now it is clear that they are Batadons and Tokotokos.
Luigi: Oh boy... Maybe Mario does have a brain after all.
Then Hiyoihoi appears with a large arm of Ganchans ready to throw.
Hiyoihoi: Is it the Heave-hos? Because I'm ready to kill them!
Tokotoko: No, it's a couple of stranders.
Hiyoihoi: Stranders? Hmmph! Hey you flies, get out of our territory!
Luigi: Give back the chief and then we'll go!
Grubby: (whispering) Oh, Luigi, you know that never works.
Hiyoihoi: The chief? HA!!! HAHA!!! HAHAHA!!! HAHAHAHA!!! That'll never happen!
Mario: Oh-a yeah?!
Hiyoihoi: Our mountain of power will kill you. ATTACK!!!
Hiyoihoi starts to throw Ganchans at the heroes, the other rockmen try to smash them as well.
Grubby: Oh yeah, that'd be our cue to RUN FOR OUR LIVES!!!
They run, leaving Hiyoihoi gloating over his victory.

Luigi: We need to help the chief, but how are we supposed to get inside without getting smashed?
Grubby: I think we need to charge in with everything we got! Those rockmen will surrender! ... I hope...
Mario: We need Sky Pop to fly us into one of the castle windows.
Luigi: Mario! That Sky Pop is the only source of transportation we have! We don't want to risk losing it.
Mario: Fine-a fine-a fine-a! We could climb-a the secret path up into the-a castle window. That-a way we won't be noticed-a!
Luigi: Where is it, Mario?
Mario points to the large jungle covering the left side of the stone castle.
Grubby: Great, Cheese Man! Let's go!
The heroes run off toward the jungle. A Chicken then emerges from the mois. The Chicken, who was spying on the heroes, contacts Tatanga on a gadget.
Chicken: Sir! They're on their way to save the chief Spear Guy.
Tatanga: Argh! Make sure they fail!
Chicken: I'll hire some help. I know of a force that is a great danger, just like the rockmen.
Tatanga: Good... Do it as soon as possible!
Chicken: Will do.

The heroes are traveling through the jungle.
Grubby: Gosh it's dark in here!
Luigi: LOOK OUT!!!
They run foward to dodge a Suu's slam.
Suu: Dang!
Mario: HEHE!!!
Suu: Grr... EVERYONE!!! GET OVER HERE AND ATTACK THESE IDIOTS!!!
Kumus and Nokobons jump out of the thick weeds that surround the heroes and start to approach. Grubby pulls out his hammers and starts tossing them at the attackers.
Luigi: Hold them off long enough for me to grab a Superball Flower!
Luigi runs off and grabs a Superball Flower, then he starts to fire at the foes along with Grubby.
Suu: What?!
Mario: HE-A-HE!!! You lost-a the fight-a!
Suu: I'll get you sometime later!
They run off and climb the vines on the side of the castle. They climb into a window and find the chief all tied up.
Spear Guy Chief: Oh thank the lord for this. Help me!
Luigi: Let me untie this first and we'll scat!
Luigi unties the chief. Just then two Tokotokos run into the room.
Mario: Oh-a no!
Luigi: I got it!
Luigi fires a superball at both Tokotokos, knocking them both out. Then they run towards the window to climb out, but they see the Suu has just eaten the vines.
Grubby: YOU LITTLE ARACHNID!!!
Suu: Oh, you want more? ROCKMEN!!! THREE IDIOTS ARE TRYING TO RESCUE THE CHIEF!!! STOP THEM!!! Heheheheheh...
Large footsteps are then heard.
Grubby: C'mon, we gotta get out of here!
They start running towards the front floor of the stone castle, trying to ignore all of the rockmen chasing them. They see the exit, but it is then blocked off by a Batadon. Hiyoihoi comes out with a flood of Ganchans following him.
Hiyoihoi: So, you think you can escape?! HA!!! You'll be nothing but dust by the time I'm finished with you.
Luigi: C'mon! Bring it on!
Luigi and Grubby start throwing their weapons at Hiyoihoi, but he seems unaffected.
Hiyoihoi: YAWN!!!
Spear Guy Chief: This won't work! He's gotten stronger over the past few years! You need to hurl his Ganchans at him.
Mario: Righty-a!
Mario picks up two Ganchans and then tosses them at Hiyoihoi.
Hiyoihoi: No... That hurts!
Mario throws a dozen Ganchans at Hiyoihoi, but then he rams into Mario. But then Grubby smashes his back with a hammer. Hiyoihoi starts to crack.
Hiyoihoi: ... No... Rockmen, attack!
He turns into gravel, the rockmen then start to attack. But then a large group of Heave-hos knock the door down. The Heave-hos start throwing Ganchans at the rockmen; they have no intention of protecting the heroes.
Spear Guy Chief: Quickly! Let's get ouaaaaagh!
The chief was grabbed by a Heave-ho, but then Luigi busts the Heave-ho and everyone escapes the deadly crossfire. Later on that day, the Spear Guys give the heroes their utmost thanks.
Spear Guy Child: Thank you. I'll never forget you three.
Elderly Spear Guy: Yes... It must have been hard... knowing what a brute... Hiyoihoi is...
Mario puts his right hand forward.
Spear Guy Chief: What's this all about?
Mario: Gift for saving your skin!
Luigi: MARIO!!!
Mario: Hmmph!
Spear Guy Chief: Fine, you can have this small token.
He hands Mario a piece of cheese.
Mario: YAY!!!
So the heroes leave World 3 and are on their way to destroy Tatanga once and for all. Meanwhile, though...
Tatanga: So, they didn't die in the stone castle?
Chicken: No sir, but I had no idea that the Heave-hos would concentrate on the ro-
Tatanga shoots the Chicken with a laser.
Tatanga: This is it, the big thing.
Once they arrive, I'll be ready for them. BRAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Previously on Super Mario Land Ultra: The Journey Return, the chief Spear Guy was captured by the hardest men of the mountains, but fortunately, he was rescued by the Mario Bros. and Grubby. They had to battle their way back down the castle in order to escape, they obliterated Hiyoihoi and barely escaped the thick battle between the Heave-hos and the rockmen. So now they depart towards the Chai Kingdom in order to rescue Daisy.
Mario flies through the thin, cloudy sky and soon arrives in the Chai Kingdom.
WORLD 4: The Showdown
Luigi: YAY!!! Now we can save Daisy from this kidnapper!
Mario: I feel-a so good-a. Hand-a me a box-a of Cheese Nips!
Grubby: Oh okay. Just DIVE AND PARK!!!
Mario immediately does so, just to avoid a few Giras that were launched at them.
Mario: PHEW!!! Can-a I have my Cheese Nips now?
Grubby: No, Cheese Man, I just saved you from a Gira attack. There are Gira SAMs about on the ground. See them?
The Mario Bros. look around and see black, cannon-pod things placed upon the vast ground ahead.
Grubby: And it looks as if the only way to get to the tower where Daisy is being held is to fly! We need to disable those Gira SAMs! But how, is the question.
Luigi: Hey look! An underground security control section!
They all spot some stairs spiraling down into the ground. A sign nearby says USC (Underground Security Control).
Grubby: Great! Now let's go!
Luigi: Right! But a few of us have got to watch the Sky Pop. Soooo... You go, Grubby!
Grubby: Why me?!
Mario: Because-a, I’ve-a done all the work-a so far and Luigi's too-a lazy to!
Luigi: Grr... Well you just don't want to go because you want to eat some Cheese Nips!
Mario: No I-a don't!
Grubby leaves the argument, thinking they just didn't want to go because they're scared.

It is pitch black underground, but then a light emerges from far off inside.
Grubby: Hmm... I see light.
It keeps getting brighter and brighter until... FWOOSH!!! Grubby is blasted by fire.
Grubby: YEOWOWOWOWOW!!! WHAT THE?!
Then more fire is moving about and fire has started burning on the surrounding environment, Grubby can now see better. He keeps moving past the flames until he can see a couple of Nyololins ae the cause of it.
Grubby: Stupid snakes!
Grubby hits the Nyololins with his hammers, then he is hit hard on the back hard and his hat is knocked off. He turns to see that it was a Pinopi.
Pinopi: Ggggrraaaaaaaggghhhh! Leeaavee!
Grubby: Take this!
Grubby clobbers the Pinopi with one of his hammers, but the Pinopi just gets back up. Grubby then pushes the Pinopi into one of the fires, but he seems fine.
Pinopi: Yoouu caan't kiill soomeethiing thaat iis aalreeaady deeaad!
Grubby runs off further down the pathway, trying to get away from the enraged Pinopi. He soon slams into a dead end with nothing but a switch.
Grubby: Drat! ... Hey, a switch!
Grubby pulls it, he then hears mechanical noises shutting down.

Luigi: Mario, please eat a little neater!
Mario: I LOVE CHEESE!!!
Brrrzzzzggg!
Luigi: Hey, Mario... Hey Mario, look! The Gira SAMs are down! Grubby did it!
Luigi then sees fire within the USC.
Luigi: Uh oh...

Pinopi: Nooboody caan saavee yoouu! Noow yoouu wiill diiee!
Grubby keeps throwing hammers at the Pinopi, but the Pinopi just keeps edging closer and closer. Then he falls flat because Luigi has drenched him in holy water.
Luigi: C'mon, Grubby! We gotta save Daisy!
Meanwhile, Tatanga figures out that the heroes are in the Chai Kingdom.
Tatanga: Roketons, Chickens, Chikako Mines- prevent the fools from completing their mission!
The minions all launch out.
Tatanga: And Brokiton, you go and help out too.

Luigi: Mario! We'd do nothing but slow you down if we were tied to the back of your Sky Pop, so you go fly the skies alone. We'll try to find some way to help, but for now, you're Daisy's only hope.
Grubby: Be brave, Cheese Man! And don't mess up or else Daisy will smack you if she ever sees you.
Mario jumps into the Sky Pop and flies off. Just then, a badly injured Chicken waddles up to Luigi and Grubby.
Chicken: That Tatanga, he zapped me when I made one simple mistake! .I want him to pay... Hey... You two are trying to rescue Princess Daisy, right?
Grubby: Uhg... What's it to ya?
Luigi: Right!
Chicken: Well, I know a second way to the Chai Tower, but you'll need to be skilled with your jumping.
The Chicken waddles over to a sign, punches it, and then a loooooong line of weight blocks leading to the far tower appear.
Chicken: You must jump fast and carefully or else you'll fall down into the huge hole below it.
Luigi: !!!

Roketon: Ey, look at dat dere reed guy! LET'S SHOOT ‘IM!!!
Roketons and Chickens appear, trying to knock Mario out of the sky, but Mario starts firing missiles at them.
Chicken: BRAAWWK!!! LOOK OUT!!!
A couple of Roketons are sent falling from Mario's attack, Mario then starts to shoot again. He then flies into a Chikako Mine and is blown back.
Roketon: GEET HIM!!! TATANGA WANTS HIIM DEAD!!!
Mario: Tatanga? He-a back?
Mario jumps out of his Sky Pop and jumps on a Roketon plane, and then bounces off more Roketon planes. He soon bounces off the last Roketon plane and lands back in his Sky Pop.
Chicken: AAAAK!!! RETREAT!!!
The Chickens fly off, then Brokiton appears in front of Mario.
Brokiton: GOPPA GOPPA!!! KIARLLO!!!

Luigi and Grubby start jumping across the weight blocks in order to get to the Chai Tower. But since Mario shot down some Roketon planes and Chickens, they come raining down a bit around the weight blocks.
Grubby: What's going on?!
Luigi: That's a sign that Mario's doing a great job! Keep jumping!

Mario: Not this-a piece of cotton-a candy again-a!
Brokiton: BOOOOOAAAAA!!!
Brokiton releases Chickens and then commands then to ram into Mario. But Mario swiftly dodges all the attacks and fires a few missiles at Brokiton. Brokiton tries to fly into Mario, but is too slow.
Mario: WEEHEE!!!
Mario starts firing a huge stream of missiles at Brokiton, causing him to release more Chickens. Mario blasts a Chicken right into Brokiton, then he tries driving right through him, but Brokiton dodges. Mario then shoots one more missile, which hits Brokiton
Brokiton: GOPPA!!! JGUAOR OYF MARIO!!!
He then disintegrates within the sky wind; that's most likely the last of him. Mario then flies toward the tower and blows a hole through it. He enters and parks the Sky Pop, but he then meets up with some unwanted minions.
Chicken: He defeated Brokiton!
Nokobon: Let's save Tatanga the trouble of having to kill this fool!
They all charge towards Mario.
It's getting very close to the showdown, but the only question is, <I>who will win the showdown?</I> Will the heroes even get to the part where they meet Tatanga, or will the tower of terror finish them off? Will Princess Daisy be saved, or will Tatanga really rule over Sarasaland? And will Luigi and Grubby make it over the weight blocks? These questions will be answered on the final part of Super Mario Land Ultra: The Journey Return!
