Yoshi's Birthday Party

One day, Yoshi was skipping merrily to Princess Peach’s castle. When he finally got inside, he called, “PRINCESS PEACH!!!”

Princess Peach came to the doorway to see what Yoshi needed. “What do you need, Yoshi?”

“Peach know Yoshi birthday in five days, right?” asked Yoshi.

Peach thought for a moment.  “Yes, I do.  I had Toad paint it on a wall so I would remember,” said Peach.

“Yoshi want big party this year and want lots people to come!” exclaimed Yoshi.

“You want a really big party with a lot of people? Why not just you and your really good friends have a party? Wouldn’t that be okay?” she asked.

“Can Yoshi please have big party? Please?” asked Yoshi.

Peach sighed. She knew that Yoshi wasn’t going to give in, so she said, “Well, all right.”

“Yay!!!” shouted Yoshi. “Yoshi gonna make list of what Yoshi wants for birthday and who Yoshi wants to come!”

Yoshi ran out of the castle and went to his home to get started on his lists. “Let’s see…” Yoshi said. He tapped his pencil on his head as he thought of who to invite. After two hours of writing, he was finally finished his list, which read:

Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, DK, Wario, Waluigi, Toad, Toadette, Boo, Koopa Troopa, Koops, Kooper, Sushi, Bombette, Bow, Goombella, Flurrie, Parakarry, Raphael Raven, Goombario, Goombaria, Shy Guy, Mouser, Birdo, Fuzzy, Jungle Fuzzy, Forest Fuzzy, Piranha Plant, Geno, Mallow, Toadsworth, Dry Bones, Twink, Lakilester, Huff 'N Puff, Crystal King, Koopa Bros, Tubba Blubba, Wooster, General Guy, Triclyde, Tutankoopa, the mayor of Shiver City, the mayor of Yoshi’s Village, and many, many, many other people.

Then, Yoshi thought for a moment. He added three names to the list. They were Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry Koopa.

Then, he worked on his list for what he wanted as gifts for another two hours. After he was done with that, he ran to Princess Peach’s castle. “PRINCESS PEACH!!! I GOT MY LISTS DONE!!!” he called as loud as he could.

Princess Peach came to where he was and read the lists. “Wow. That sure is a lot of gifts you want. And a lot of people you want to come,” she said, amazed.

“Yeah. Can Yoshi write invitations?” he asked.

“Well, how about I get someone to do it, since your handwriting isn’t that neat,” said Peach.

“Okay!” Yoshi said.

“I’ll call Daisy and see if she can write these up,” said Peach.

“Yeah! And Yoshi want to deliver them myself!” said Yoshi.

“Well, okay,” she replied.

“YAY!!!” Yoshi shouted happily and ran out of the castle.

The next morning, Yoshi got a phone call. “Hi! This is Yoshi and it’s gonna be my birthday in four days!” he said into the phone.

“Yoshi? This is Peach. Daisy got all of the invitations written up. Although, she was wondering why you invited Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry Koopa,” said Peach.

“It’s ‘cause they’re lots and lots of fun! The other ones no fun at all!” said Yoshi.

“Well, that explains it, although I don’t agree very much. Do you want to stop by and get these so you can deliver them?” she asked.

“Yes!” shouted Yoshi.

He hung up and ran out of his house in his pajamas to Peach’s castle. When he got in, he started to call, “PRINCESS PE-“ but was stopped in mid-sentence by Peach.

“Please don’t shout,” she said.

“Okay,” said Yoshi.

She had a wheelbarrow full of invitations and Yoshi took it so he could deliver them to everyone. He took off. Yoshi delivered every invitation and waited for their answer of whether they were going or not, they each said that they were and asked him what he wanted, and he gave them a copy of the list of what he wanted, which Peach had made copies of for everyone who was invited.

Then, he got to Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry’s invitations. He skipped to the door of the castle. He knocked on it and Wendy Koopa was standing in a fluffy pink robe. “WHAT’RE YA DOIN’ HERE?!” she shouted.

“Hi! It gonna be Yoshi birthday in four days!”

“So?” asked Wendy.

“I got invitations for Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry Koopa!” said Yoshi merrily.

Wendy turned around and shouted, “LEMMY! IGGY! LARRY! YOU GOT MAIL!!!”

They all came running down. They laughed when they saw Yoshi. “Hey, nice pajamas! Where did ya get them? At Baby Mart?” said Larry.

The four Koopalings laughed at that joke. Yoshi looked down, but then looked up with a smile and said, “I got invitations for Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry Koopa!”

They stopped laughing. “What about me?!” said Wendy, mad.

“You no fun. Other three lots of fun!” said Yoshi.

Wendy stomped away. Bowser came to the doorway. “What’s going on?!” he said, mad that he'd been woken up from his sleep.

“Yoshi’s birthday is in four days!  And Yoshi gonna have big party with lots people. Yoshi got invitations for Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry Koopa!” Yoshi said with a big smile.

“Well, they are NOT going to a Yoshi’s birthday party!” Bowser said.

“You mean we’re invited?” asked Larry.

“Yep!” said Yoshi.

“Can we please go?” asked Lemmy.

“NO!” shouted Bowser.

Clawdia, the Koopalings’ mother, came down. “What’s going on?” she asked, yawning.

“Yoshi’s birthday in four days! Yoshi gonna have big party with lots people! Yoshi invited Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry Koopa to come!” said Yoshi.

“Well, I say that they can go to it,” replied Clawdia.

“Yay!” shouted Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry.

“No, they cannot!” shouted Bowser.

“Aww,” said Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry Koopa.

“I think that they should. They haven’t gone to one in a while,” said Clawdia.

“All right, fine,” mumbled Bowser. “They can go.”

“Yay!” the three Koopalings shouted.

Yoshi gave them the list of what he wanted and skipped away. They went back inside and saw Roy Koopa on the couch watching TV, and Clawdia remembered something. “Wasn’t Roy invited to Yoshi’s birthday party when they were in preschool together?” she asked.

“Yeah, but he forgot about it,” said Bowser.

“Forgot about what?” asked Roy.

“When you were in preschool, Yoshi invited you to his birthday party and you forgot about it,” Clawdia.

Nine years ago...

Yoshi and Roy are in a classroom with a bunch of other 4-year-olds. Yoshi walks up to Roy and says, “Hey Roy! Do you wanna come to my big birthday party that’s in rwo days?”

“Okay,” Roy mumbles like he doesn’t want to go, but he said that he would.

“Yay! I knew that you were the best friend in the world!” says Yoshi. “It’s at 1:00 PM!”

At Kastle Koopa, Roy goes immediately to the couch and turns on the TV and watches it. The next day Yoshi reminds him about the party and Roy mumbles “okay”. When the day of the party comes, Clawdia has Roy’s present to Yoshi wrapped and sets it by Roy, who is watching TV. “See you later, Roy! Have fun!” Clawdia says when she hears the door open and shut.

But, it was actually Bowser coming home from a part time job that he had.

At the party, a younger Peach is standing next to the chair at the end of the table where Yoshi is sitting.

“All my friends here?” asks Yoshi.

Peach checks her list of guests. “No. One of them isn’t here. And that is…” She looks at the list. “Roy Koopa.”

Yoshi looks down, frowning, looking as if he is about to cry.  “But he said that he would be here,” says Yoshi, starting to get tears in his eyes.

“I’m sorry Yoshi,” she says and puts her arm around him, trying to make him feel better.

Four hours later, at Kastle Koopa, Clawdia hears the door open and shut. “Hi Roy! How was the party?” she asks.

But, she sees a servant standing there. She goes into the Koopa Lounge and sees Roy, staring at the TV, the birthday present still beside him. “Roy!” she shouts.

Roy looks up. “What?” he asks.

“Did you go to the party?” she says, her anger rising with every word she said.

“What party?” he asks.

“Yoshi’s party!” she shouts.

“Oh yeah! That party! Uhh, I sort of forgot about it,” Roy says.

“Roy, before you make me any madder, go to the dungeon,” Clawdia says, putting her hand on her forehead.

Roy just sits there, knowing that his mom, being so kind, hardly ever sent any of her children to the dungeon. He thought that she didn’t mean it. When she sees that he is still sitting there, she says, “NOW!” Roy then runs to the dungeon. Everyone in the castle is shock when they hear Clawdia scream, knowing that she hardly ever screams that loud when she is angry.

2005...

“Oh yeah!  I remember that!” said Roy.

Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry went to go find something that Yoshi would like. After looking for two hours, none of them could find anything that he would like, so they went and got Clawdia and Bowser to take them to the store. Bowser was complaining the whole time that they were in the store, while Lemmy, Iggy and Larry were looking for something that Yoshi would like. After three hours of looking, Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry finally had something. Lemmy had found a white ball with green dots all over it, like a green Yoshi egg. Iggy had found a pair of feet pajamas that was white with green dots all over it, like a green Yoshi egg. Larry had found a teddy bear that was brown and very soft.  When they showed Bowser and Clawdia what they had got, Bowser said, “Finally!”

They checked out and paid and went home.  When they got home, Clawdia told them that she would wrap their presents. The three Koopalings went wandering around the castle. Lemmy walked by Roy’s room, and thought of something. He made sure that Roy wasn’t around, and then quietly went into his room. Lemmy walked around for a little bit and then found what he was looking for. He started to dig through it and found what he was looking for. It was the present that Roy never gave to Yoshi. He took it and ran out of the room. As he was running, he ran into Roy. Lemmy quickly put the present behind his back. “H-hey Roy, nice day to run into such a pleasant guy like you, huh?” said Lemmy.

“What do you want? And why are ya actin’ so nervous?” asked Roy.

“Oh, uh, no reason. I’ve just been that way ever since I saw a movie with a few of our siblings,” lied Lemmy.

“Oh yeah? Well, what was the movie called and what was it about?” questioned Roy.

“It was called, uh, ‘The Attack of The Mutant Squirrels’,” lied Lemmy.

“And what was it about?” asked Roy.

“It was about, uh, when this one scientist mutated these squirrels and uh they started to attack people and uh finally these three people try to defeat the squirrels, by, uh, using lasers! Yeah that’s it, and uh they finally do use the lasers and some of the squirrels are demutated and others didn’t survive the lasers,” lied Lemmy.

“Oh yeah? Well, I gotta see that movie!” said Roy.

Roy ran off to find the made up movie. Lemmy let out a sigh of relief, and ran off to go hide the present in his room until the party.

The next day, at Princess Peach’s castle, everyone was helping to get Yoshi’s party ready. Mario and Luigi were putting up a banner that said “HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOSHI!”, Peach and Daisy were making a really big birthday cake, and Toad was cleaning the yard and other areas that the party was going to be in. Yoshi was running around, seeing what everyone was doing. “He’s been a green ball of energy and happiness ever since Peach told him that he could have a big birthday party this year,” said Mario.

Luigi nodded in agreement. After five hours of working, everything was done. It was 7:00 PM and they had to force Yoshi to go to sleep so that he would be rested for the next day.

The day of Yoshi’s party finally came. Yoshi and Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, and Toad got up early to do last minute preparations. The time of the party came, and Yoshi and Peach stood at the entrance to greet the guests. At Kastle Koopa, Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry were rushing to get ready for the party. Just as Lemmy was about to rush out of the room, he remembered Roy’s present, and quickly grabbed it and ran out of the room. At the party, everyone had come except for Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry. Peach told Yoshi that and Yoshi sighed and said, “I guess that I should never invite one of Bowser’s kids to my party ever again.”

Then, they saw a van pull up and out hopped Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry. “Yay!  They came!” exclaimed Yoshi.

Peach crossed them off and told Yoshi that everyone was here. “YAY!!!” shouted Yoshi.

They went into the back where everyone else was. Then, after a little while, everyone sat down at this long table with Yoshi at the end. Everyone sang happy birthday and Yoshi blew out the candles and the cake was served. Then, after everyone ate the cake, Yoshi opened presents. Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry’s presents were the last ones that were opened. Yoshi loved the teddy bear, the pajamas, and the ball. Then, Lemmy said, “Hey Yoshi! Here’s something from Roy.”

“YAY!!!” Yoshi shouted.

He started ripping the wrapping paper off and the present was opened. The present was a picture of Yoshi and Roy when they were in preschool. Yoshi had his arm around Roy and Roy had his arm around Yoshi and Yoshi was waving at the camera that was taking their picture and both Yoshi and Roy were smiling. On the back, it said, “To my best friend in the whole world Yoshi, From your best friend Roy.”

Yoshi smiled and said, “Is this the present that he got for me nine years ago?”

“Yep,” said Lemmy.

“I remember when this was taken. This was at Roy’s birthday party nine years ago. This was taken after the party was over,” said Yoshi.

“Where’d ya find it?” asked Larry.

“In Roy’s closet,” replied Lemmy.

“Can you tell Roy that I said thank you?” asked Yoshi.

“Will do,” said Lemmy.

“Oh, and Roy has the same picture that you had given him after he got the picture developed,” said Lemmy.

“Yay!” shouted Yoshi.

Four hours later, the party was over and everyone was leaving. Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry were the last ones to leave. Just before they left, Yoshi shouted, “Wait!”

They turned around and saw Yoshi and Peach holding a camera. “I want you three to get a picture with me!” said Yoshi with a smile.

The three ran over to Yoshi, and Iggy put his arm around Lemmy, Lemmy put his arm around Yoshi, Yoshi put his arm around Larry, and Larry had his left arm around Yoshi. Iggy and Larry were using their free hand to wave at the camera and the four were smiling. Peach then took their picture. Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry left. Yoshi went home and thought of the day, and fell asleep during the time that he was thinking.

Two weeks later, Peach got the picture of Yoshi, Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry developed and gave Yoshi a copy. He smiled and on the other three copies, he wrote, “To:" and then whoever the Koopaling was and then "From: Yoshi”.

He sent the three Koopalings their pictures. About three days later, the doorbell rang and Lemmy answered it. It was Parakarry. “Deliveries for Lemmy, Iggy, and Larry Koopa!” he said.

Lemmy took them and Parakarry left and Lemmy shut the door. “Hey Iggy! Larry!  Come here!” Lemmy shouted.

Iggy and Larry came running and they both asked, “What is it?”

Lemmy handed them their packages. The three Koopalings opened them and smiled at what it was.  It was the picture from Yoshi’s party. They read the back and smiled. They now thought better of Yoshi, who their family was supposed to be enemies with, along with the Mario Bros. and Peach, Daisy, and Toad.
