Phil: Previously on the Amazing Race MK: Six teams set off from picturesque Yoshi’s Tropical Island, and raced to Sky Land.
Boo: We’re Boos!
Phil: An early flight put King Boo and Boo into a very strong lead, which was not thwarted until the end.
Phil, Replay: You’re team number 1!
Phil: A frustrating Detour and an even more frustrating Roadblock switched up the positions, pushing Mario and Luigi back to the front, and sending Yoshi and Pink Yoshi to the bottom. DK and Diddy were forced to switch Detour tasks when DK found it difficult to fit into a Kuribo’s Shoe. Eventually, it was them who succumbed to last place, and they were eliminated. Now, five teams remain. Who will be eliminated... next?
The opening plays with a new Red X over DK and Diddy.
Phil: This is the cloud portion of Sky Land, a powerful region that covers both land and sky. After climbing up the majestic Spiral Tower, tourists find themselves here. And in the heart of Sky Land’s cloudy landscape is the Sky Land Castle. This was the eighth Pit Stop... in a race around the MK. Teams arrived here for a mandatory rest period. Can Yoshi and Pink climb out of being in last place for the first time? And will King Boo and Boo continue their newfound winning trend? King Boo and Boo, who were the first to arrive at 3:15 PM... will depart, at 3:15 AM.

Phil: Teams must now cross many borders, and head towards the luscious green Grass Land. As hills roll on for miles, the castle sits in the center of it all. Teams are headed from the Sky Land Castle to the Grass Land Castle. Serving the same purpose, it stands tall over the rest of Grass Land. Teams will find their next clue there. The Sky Land Airport is located on the ground portion of the land, so teams will need to find a way down… (Camera shows a single cloud)
Boo: Ehehehe! The location of the Boos’ first sighting of Mario.
King Boo: No. You’re forgetting back when Mario was a baby and rode around on Yoshi.

It’s direct, so there shouldn’t be any delay, but the choice is yours…

There is also the Desert Air flight, which gets in earlier, but is subject to massive delays. Finally, the two remaining teams will have to take the Water Air flight, departing an hour and a quarter after the Sky Air flight.

Phil: A Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons! This detour involves two common activities to the people of Grass Land. Spelunking… or Skydiving. In Spelunking, teams must head down to the Grass Land Plains, then follow the arrows to a nearby cave. They must then explore the cave until they find their next clue, hidden within. This task may require some physical abilities, but strong teams will do well. In Skydiving, teams must go to the Grass Land Plains, where a small plane will take them up to 10,000 feet. They must then each perform a tandem skydive with a professional. Their clue will be waiting on the ground. This task is potentially frightening, but will require no physical prowess at all.

Phil: A Roadblock is a task that only one person may perform. And no person may do more than 6 Roadblocks on the entire race. This Roadblock will require teams to search for the pitstop, which is hidden in this pipe.
A pipe is shown sticking high into the air.
Phil: Teams will receive a pair of binoculars to use. The pipe with the pitstop is marked with an Amazing Race flag. Teams may go wherever they want to search for the pipe. However, the very best location is Coin Heaven, which can be accessed by finding the hidden Pink Note Block. When teams find this pipe, they may climb up the ladder, and check into the pitstop. The last team to check in here… will be eliminated. The non-participating team member must touch the nearby stone, which has been infused with magic. They will be teleported to the pitstop.
