The Killing Game

By Anti Dude

Everyone was a little shaken after what happened during breakfast. Waluigi was now conscious. Being bored, a few people decided to look for a board game. Rummaging through the closet, Mario and Luigi asked what the others would like to play. "How about Monopoly?" asked Peach.

"Nah, I prefer Life," said Daisy.

"We'll play what we find. Right Mario?"

Mario nodded his head and spoke. "Cleaning supplies, toilet paper, extension cords, nothing's here."

The Brothers threw handfuls among handfuls of random objects on the ground. Luigi then grasped a box. "Here's something- Clue."

"Oh, let's play! I love this one!" exclaimed Peach.

Daisy said, "That's weird. There are so many figures and cards. More than I ever remembered. And the characters are everyone in the house, it seems, except DK, Yoshi, and Dry Bones. And the weapons- three Bob-ombs. Hmmm..."

Mario sighed. "Oh well. I'll be myself. Let's play!"

After a round, the group found out it was Luigi, in the Kitchen, with the Candlestick. "Strange," said Luigi. "The weapon in my room was a candlestick..."

Moments later, a scream was heard from the kitchen.

"What happened?" questioned Mario, around where Birdo was standing.

"Well, I just was getting a snack when I noticed a body at the bottom of these stairs, in the basement. Will you check it out?" she asked, shaken.

Mario peered down the stairs. "Helloooooo?" Mario walked further and found Shrooboid Brat laying on the ground. Mario brought the body upstairs. "Looks like... someone killed him with a candlestick..." Mario eyed Luigi.

"I-it wasn't me!" Luigi stammered. He ran back to his room, and on the way out, caught a glimpse of the Clue board. Junior Shrooboid was where the body's silouette should be.

After the fifth death, everyone knew there was a traitor among them. Who could've gotten Luigi's weapon? Who created this game? Why am I asking you all these questions if you don't know the answers? When will I stop asking you? Read on.

Everyone steered clear of Luigi. He swore to everyone he didn't know who did it. No one believed him. "What did I do to deserve this?" he muttered. "Now my own brother doesn't trust me." He sat own his bed and heard some whistling. "Who's there?" asked Luigi. A Boo with nicely combed blond hair appeared. "Wha! Someone's here?"

The Boo looked frightened. "Sorry. I'm a Helper Boo. I do the laundry, wash dishes, the like. And according to game rules, since you found one of us, you may choose one person to kill. Free of charge."

Luigi pondered this. Anyone? His mind raced through the choices. Mario never took him on adventures. Daisy didn't seem to care anymore. Dimentio used him for his own purposes. "Hmm. Anyone?"

"Yes, anyone."

"Well, can I see these rules?"

"I'm sorry. That isn't allowed."

"I said I'd like to see the rules."

"No can do. You can't see the rules. The rules say so."

"Well, I want to see the rules!"

"You can't!"

"Well, I quit."

"Sorry. Once you enter you can't leave."

Luigi was really angry now. Why couldn't he see the rules? Was he hiding something?

"Excuse me? Who?" the Boo said, breaking his thoughts.

"I don't want to. I don't like ALL these people, but they are all important. Minus Dimentio."

The Boo said, "Dimentio. It's decided."

"No, wait!" yelled the Man in Green.

He was too late. A scream was heard.

He then saw Dimentio walking down the hall. "Ah, the Green Thunder. How pleased I am to see you. I am sorry for the mishap at Castle Bleck. I apologize, like a kindergartener who stole animal crackers."

"Hey," said Luigi. "Did the scream come from your room? I was just wondering."

Dimentio answered, "It did. A young Boo wanted to kill me or something. I think it must be some sort of minion. Oh well."

"Creepy."

"No, not really. What's creepy is eight monkeys with seven bananas!" Dimentio gave a jolly laugh, and continued down the hall.

Luigi filled with rage. Mario hated him, his worst enemy wanted to be best friends, and Daisy didn't seem to like him anymore. Just then, he realized what the game was truly about. He looked at the candlestick on his desk, untouched. Savage ideas went through his head. Mario wouldn't be the hero if he was dead, Daisy would regret not paying attention, Bowser would never kidnap the princess...

A scream was heard. Everyone rushed upstairs. Peach was standing next to Mario's dead body, with Luigi holding his candlestick. Peach looked scared, and Luigi looked...

Happy. Very happy. The remaining contestants realized what the game was now about. They ran. They hid. But Luigi would find them all in time...
