Chapter 6: Paralee‘s Capture

Paralee and Albino went home and took a 3-hour nap. When Paralee woke up she noticed a letter on her right cheek. She took it off and read it.

“Dear Popsicle, one of Bowser’s men dropped the key to the shackles so I can write again. Now the Crystal of Strength is on Lavalava Island. I must warn you though, you have been discovered by Bowser and his men, they also sent a Magickoopa named Kamek to figure out if you’re a Magicparatroopa. So be really careful and use your magic wisely, ‘cause if Kamek sees you using You’re magic… HE’LL CAPTURE YOU!”

“Great! NOW there’s a stalker after me,” Paralee thought. “Albino…” she said softly as she rubbed the Chain Chomp gently with her foot. Albino woke up and bit Paralee on the ankle. “OWWEEEYEOUCH! IT’S ME!!!” Paralee yelled, Albino let go of Paralee’s ankle and whimpered. “Okay I forgive you,” said Paralee. She flew to the bathroom and put some hot water and rubbing alcohol over the bite, and wrapped a bandage over it.

“All better,” said Paralee, “Tell me, are you a baby Chain Chomp?” she asked. Albino nodded yes. “Well you’re pretty strong, and are you an Albino Chain Chomp? Because I’ve never seen a white Chain Chomp. Either you’re rare or the only one. Also in battle you take damage from intense light.” Albino nodded yes again. Then Paralee ripped a page out of her diary and wrote “rare or only one”. Albino licked the part where it said only one.

“I assume the Star Spirits created you, did they?” Paralee asked, Albino nodded yes. “So they called you Albino because you’re white and your weakness is intense light,” Paralee stated. Albino nodded yes. “So if your HP is 50 and is boosted to 100 in the dark, then you’re mainly compatible with the dark.” Albino nodded yes.

“Okay, enough questions, let’s go to the graveyard,” Paralee said. They went to the Forever Forest, where there was a dark blue glow and small, white glowing balls looking like they could be someone’s soul. But most importantly there was a young adult female Paratroopa in a dress that probably was from the 18th or 19th century. She was sitting on the headstone shaped like a heart. She turned to Paralee and told her to come here. Paralee walked to the Paratroopa and stood still.

“I’m Paralia, I assume you must be Paralee since you just walked through here. There is an invisible wall which I call my barrier, and only my reincarnation can go through,” she said. Paralee looked to her side and Albino wasn’t there. She used her magic to drag him in.

“Paralee, the reason why I wanted you here is I want you to have this,” said Paralia, giving Paralee her silver star necklace. “It’s called the star of life, it’ll protect you from death. It won’t work on me because I’m already dead, the only death it won’t protect you from is age. I’m only alive and look young because my body feeds on these souls of other young female Paratroopas,” said Paralia.

“How are you a Magicparatroopa?” Paralee asked.

Paralia smiled, “Quite simple, my father’s a Magikoopa and my mother was just a regular Paratroopa, so I ended up as a crossbreed, or a mix.”

“Why did you choose me?”

“Well when I died I thought of making an incarnation without making it obvious that it’s me, and your father Parakarry was the closest one who looks like me, so you became my reincarnation. So you may look like me, but others who don’t know me will think you look like Parakarry, they just won’t know how you became magical,” Paralia explained,

“So I’m a new you?”

“It’s not like you’re possessed… Look, you’re still Paralee. You know how you play with clay?” Paralee nodded. “Well imagine you make a flower; if you squish it up and make a new one, it’s still the same thing, just a creation that looks like the old one,” said Paralia. “Besides, being a Magicparatroopa is a special gift, it’s a very rare and unique trait. Trust me, most Paratroopas would risk their lives for that trait. Oh, and you may need this.”

Then Paralia gave her an orange arrow. “Use it when you battle Bowser. It’ll make him weak, weak enough for the Star Spirits to help you and unlock the Star Rod. I believe they haven’t told you that.”

“Thank you,” said Paralee. Then she and Albino took a pipe nearby and ended up on Lavalava Island.

“Woah, that was quick,” said Paralee. “Do you think Kamek’s here?” Albino did nothing. Then Paralee saw a tiny figure in the air. “Great,” Paralee thought. “Albino, get out of the pipe.”

Albino hopped out of the pipe and Paralee used her magic to turn Albino black and herself into a male Paratroopa. Paralee got out of the pipe and at that time a Magikoopa flew to her.

“By some chance did you find a female Paratroopa with a baby white Chain Chomp?

“No,” said Paralee in a deeper voice. Guess since my gender changed my voice did as well, she thought.

“What’s your name and the Chain Chomp’s?”

I wonder if that’ll interfere with the magic. If I say a boy’s name I’ll probably remain a boy, if I say Paralee I wonder if I’ll turn back into a girl! I should’ve turned into a blonde.”

“Uh… I’m Parakay?” Paralee answered. “And the Chain Chomp don’t have a name I was walking and she just kept following me.”

“Okay Parakay, if you see a female Paratroopa with her pet, tell me,” said the Magikoopa. Then he flew away.

“That must’ve been Kamek,” Paralee thought. Then she used her magic to turn Albino white and herself a female again. “Did you memorize his sent?” Paralee asked, Albino nodded. “Well if you smell that again, bark,” Paralee said.

“Bark,” went Albino. Paralee looked worried.

“Okay, was that a bark for a response or a bark saying that he’s here?”

Albino jumped high in the air and barked louder. Then Paralee felt like she had been grabbed. Albino went crazy while Paralee tried to wiggle free.

“You tried to take me for a fool?” Kamek said. Paralee looked up, and made a muffled scream. “Shut up, Bowser has been looking for you. When you go in the dungeon you’d better return those Crystals,” said Kamek. Then he tied up Paralee and flew off, leaving Albino still panicking.

“Okay, panicking isn’t going to get me anywhere. I may be little but I can do big things; just need to sniff up my mistress and her kidnapper and I’m there,” thought Albino. Then he sniffed the ground looking for his mistress.

When Paralee got tossed in the dungeon with Mario’s companions, Kamek demanded the Crystals.

“I-I-I don’t know,” said Paralee quickly.

“Fool, they must be with that Chain Chomp.”

“Why would a simple creature carry Crystals? Actually how?” Paralee said.

“Oh, so your going to act like a misses wise girl? Well guess what? When I get back you’d better hand over those Crystals,” said Kamek. Then he left.

“Okay, I have two options: I can go ahead and challenge Bowser, or escape and continue my Journey,” Paralee thought.

“Paralee, is that you?” went a familiar voice.

“Father!” Paralee shouted, then flew to her father.

“Paralee, who captured you?” Goombario asked.

“You’re okay, Paralee? That was a hard fall,” said Kooper.

“Are you trying to save us, Paralee?” Bombette asked.

“Where’ve you been, Paralee?” Bow asked.

“Paralee, do you have one of those partner or com-com-companion thingies?” Watt asked.

“How rough was your journey, Paralee?” Sushie asked.

“Paralee, you’ve been fighting battles lately?” Lakilester asked.

“Come on, guys, one question at a time. She’s probably overwhelmed,” Parakarry said. Then they heard someone’s footsteps and Kamek’s voice.

“Yes, Your Majesty, I captured her, I just didn’t capture the Chain Chomp. But I’m telling, you that girl is stubborn, she won’t hand over the Crystals.

“Well I don’t care about the Chain Chomp, but did you put her on heavy security? After all, she is a Magicparatroopa,” said Bowser.

“Don’t worry, she’s on ground,” said Kamek. But when they went to the cell Paralee wasn’t there.

“Kamek? I thought you said you captured her you put her on heavy security,” said Bowser.

“I-I-I did, I don’t know how she escaped,” said Kamek.

“YOU IDIOT, GO BACK OUT THERE AGAIN AND FIND THAT PARATOOPA!!!” Bowser demanded.

“Y-Yes sir, for-forgive me, sir,” said Kamek, then he got on his broom and flew off.

“And why didn’t you fools say nothing? Especially you!” said Bowser, pointing at Parakarry. Parakarry did nothing but turn a little pale. Soon Bowser left. Parakarry let out a sigh of relief.

“Okay, li’l miss disappear, you can reappear,” said Parakarry quietly. Paralee reappeared and hugged her father.

“I promise, I’m going to save everyone,” said Paralee.

“And Paralee, your next Crystal is underwater. Be really careful,” said Parakarry. Paralee climbed up the wall and surprisingly found a way out.

“Magikoopas must be flying around here, I must be extremely careful,” Paralee thought.

“And where do you think you’re going, deary?” went an old witch’s voice. Paralee turned around, IT WAS KAMMY KOOPA!

“You’d better get back in that cell or I’ll have to report you to the king.”

“Oh really…”

“YOUR MAJESTY!!!” Kammy Koopa yelled.

“Kammy, what has got you so upset?” Bowser asked.

“A prisoner escaped.”

“Great, now there’s two missing. Who was it?”

“The Magicparatroopa.”

“Wait a minute, I thought it already escaped. Kamek was sent to find her.”

“What? She was up the roof I told her to get back in the cell and after that she said ugly things.”

“Great, she must’ve been invisible when Kamek and I were down there. Kammy, you go ahead and look for that Paratroopa as well,” said Bowser.

“Yes sir,” said Kammy. She got on her broom and left.

“Mmm… That Paratroopa is tricky. If I could at least slow her down even a little we could probably get somewhere. I think I’ve got an idea...” Bowser thought.
