More about Magikoopa...
Games: Super Mario World, Paper Mario, Super
Mario Galaxy
In case you couldn't tell from the name, Magikoopa
is a Koopa that is able to use magic. In addition to its magic blasts
being able to hurt Mario directly, it is known that its blasts can turn
blocks into other minions. Despite being Koopas, Magikoopas appear
not to have shells, as they are defeated outright when they are stomped
on, provided you can do so before they teleport away.
Though Magikoopa arrived to the game a bit late, not appearing until Mario World, today I consider the species to likely be the most elite of Bowser's minions considering the roles filled by famous Magikoopas, Kamek and Kammy. And yet, SMW is in fact the only conventional sidescroller in which Magikoopa has appeared just as a minion, not counting Kamek in Yoshi's Island, for example. Even the more recent New Super Mario Bros. titles do not include Magikoopas. Magikoopas appear prominantly in the Paper Mario titles, where depending on the color of their robes they can cast different spells such as raising stats, electrifying themselves, and healing themselves, as well as making illusions of themselves. In addition to Kamek and Kammy, another boss Magikoopa is Kamella from Mario Galaxy. Unnamed Magikoopas have also appeared as bosses in Yoshi's Safari, Mario RPG, and Paper Mario. The species also made the cut to be playable in the baseball series.
Surprisingly, Magikoopa has been overlooked in the Sports Hall and has never appeared in the ring.
